Beauty sleep.

The sleep you need in order to feel healthy, revived and attractive. In a perfect world, we would stay up all night and still feel alive and ready in the morning. That just isn’t the case, especially for me. If I don’t get enough sleep I am one miserable person and I feel groggy all day. I think night time pampering is just as important and the pampering you do during the day. Today, I want to share with you my “feel-good” beauty sleep necessities and why I love them!

Before I get into bed, I wash my face and apply appropriate steps to cleansing and moisturizing.

SLEEP Pillow Mist – Lavender Chamomile Scent

The first thing I do when I get into bed is spray my Sleep Pillow Mist.  All you need is a couple sprays on your pillow before bed. It’s an extremely light mist, with just enough aromatherapy to relax you before sleep. The best thing about it is the scent does not last long so it isn’t like spraying perfume on your bed, it’s gone by morning. I did not care for the Vanilla scent, (I’m not a huge Vanilla person to begin with) but the lavender-chamomile scent is to die for! This is a MUST in my night time ritual. Try it out! You’ll be addicted.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment – Advanced Therapy

This is the strangest form of ‘chap-stick’ I use but nothing else works for me. This is the only product I have used that fixes my lips in one night. I REFUSE to go to sleep without applying this on my lips. I actually haven’t gone a night without it in over two years. I have the worst chapped lips and to make it worse, I pick them. They have a “Lip Therapy” version, but it does not work as well as this one does. If you have the same issue, try this!

Young Living – Stress Away Essential Oil

I LIVE for essential oils and I have my mom to thank for that one! They have been used for many, many years for cosmetic, emotional, and spiritual purposes but also as a natural remedy! You would be surprised at how well the aromatherapy oils create mind and body wellness. My mom gave me the Stress Away Essential Oil Bottle ($29.75) from her Everyday Oils Collection ($129.00). I know this brand is very pricey for such a small bottle but it is so worth it. Every night I like to apply topically by putting a little oil in the back/bottom area of my ear, along both my wrists, and on the back center of my neck. You can also use an essential oil diffuser around your house if you don’t desire them on your skin! I really think that essential oils enhance a positive energy which is exactly how I want to feel before bed and when I wake up!

Dream Time Inner Peace Eye Pillow

This is optional for me depending on how I feel. They say this Eye Pillow is supposed to relax you while easing stress and tension. The back of the box states that this small eye pillow is filled with a blend of flax, lavender, chamomile, and orange granules. It applies gentle acupressure to tired eyes and facial muscles while the aromatherapy keeps you comfortable and calm. Obviously I have a thing for aromatherapy, LOL. Sometimes if my eyes are puffy I’ll throw it in a bag and put it in the freezer for a bit. Like I said, I do this occasionally and not every night, but its great to have at your bedside if you ever need it!
