1. Crazy for Concealer 2 I was actually texting with one of my best friends Ashlee (@Ashbatags on Instagram for some fitness inspiration) a couple days ago, about what kinds of concealers we use. It was funny because we both have the same taste in makeup, but also have a similar complexion, so to us, this was great conversation. We realized that a lot of the concealers both of us have used before, always give us a really oily complexion. And who wants an oily face? She mentioned that other people might have the same issue and said I should post our favorites so other people can try them out as well.

When it comes to concealer, I have tried so many different brands. The thing is, I don’t really have dark circles or bags under my eyes but I do get those natural shadows that appear. I use concealer to offset any shadow that might occur since that area of your face is the most sunken in. (Which is the primary purpose of concealers).

I wanted to share my favorite high-end concealer as well as my favorite drugstore brand. You can decide which one works best for you!

Concealer 2 My favorite high-end concealer is without a doubt, the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. It is a thin formula with medium to heavy coverage. It spreads easily and really stays until you remove it. It does not give me an oily complexion whatsoever. I truly feel as if it does its job.

My favorite drugstore concealer is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. This is a very thin formula that is so easy to manipulate under your eye. It has a little spongey tip that is extremely easy to use. It really gives a radiating complexion without being oily. It definitely diminishes any shadows under the eye. I actually combine two colors to make the perfect color for me. I mix: Fair and Light.

I really alternate between both concealers. It just depends on my mood, I guess! They are the only ones I use. Neither of them create oils or apply too thick. When I want fuller coverage, I will use MAC’s concealer. On a day to day basis, I will use Maybelline. It really isn’t one of those cosmetic items that I choose to spend a large amount of money on. (Plus its cheaper, LOL). Here is a recent post I did to see what products I purchase that are high-end and which ones I purchase at the drug store!

Do you guys have the same problem my friend and I do? What concealers work best for you? Also… Follow my girl @Ashbatag on Instagram and Twitter. Her body is my total inspiration!
XOXO!

  1. Lately I’ve been using the Tarte Amazonian Clay Concelear – from your Tarte post! – and loving it. The consistency is a little thicker than I thought it would be and it has a sort of sheen or oil finish to it but stays put after I set it with the Kat Von D contour/highlight kit!! I do miss the Maybelline Age Rewind, I loved that consistency… If only they were cruelty free!! :(
